Veteran players and casino enthusiasts may be no stranger to playing Casino Hold ‘Em Poker. But for first-time gamblers and neophytes in the gambling world, this game could be a bit confusing since it has the makings of traditional poker. However, there are differences between the two. Knowing the basics and mechanics behind this game is essential if you wish to play one of the most famous poker variants right now.

Basic Guideline

Casino Hold ‘Em is for the most part like traditional poker. Thus, it follows the same basic rules for the ranking of the hands. From highest to lowest, the hands are ranked below.

    null
  • Royal Flush
  • Straight Flus
  • Four of a Kind
  • Flush
  • Straight
  • Three of a Kind
  • Two Pairs
  • Pairs
  • High Card

Mechanics

Players are dealt two cards each. The dealer will also deal five community cards that will be shared between the players and the dealer himself. To win, one should have the best hand out of the cards given to them. Whoever has the better hand in terms of ranking wins the round.

Wagering Process

  1. Players should wager a value first, and this is referred to as the Ante.
  2. For those who want to make a side bet on top of the Ante, they can wager on an AA Bonus. This step is optional.
  3. Players are dealt two cards each while three community cards are dealt for the flop. At this point, players already have an idea regarding the strength of their hand.
  4. The next step is to either raise or fold.
  5. Should a player choose to raise his hand, he is expected to wager an amount that will double the Ante. At this point, two more cards will be shown, and they will serve as the turn and river cards.
  6. Should a player choose to fold, he will automatically lose the Ante and AA bet he made earlier.
  7. The final step is for the dealer to show his hand. This is the most important part of the game since it determines who wins the round.

Strategies

  • If you are confident that your hand is better than that of the dealer’s, then you should happily raise so that the house would pay your Ante based on the system shown below:
HandPayout
Royal Flush100:1
Straight Flush20:1
Four of a Kind10:1
Full House3:1
Flush2:1
Straight or Lower1:1
  • If you think the dealer’s hand is less than a pair of 4’s, you should know that the raise bet is pushed. If the dealer’s hand is higher than a pair of 4’s, your hand will be compared to that of the dealer. In case you win, the house will pay 1:1 on the raise bet.
  • You will be paid your AA Bonus regardless if your hand wins or loses as long as your first five cards (the cards dealt to you and the flop) ranks better than a pair of Aces. Think of this as your bonus payout. The payment scheme for this is shown below:
HandPayout
Royal Flush100:1
Straight Flush50:1
Four of a Kind40:1
Full House30:1
Flush20:1
Pair of Aces/Straight7:1
