The week is almost coming to a close, but not without another drawing of the Mega Millions lottery. The jackpot was a whopping $224 million and the cash option was a staggering $136.1 million.

Unfortunately, no one won the grand prize for this Friday night’s drawing. However, four lucky ticket holders won $1 million each after matching the five white numbers. The tickets were sold in California, Maryland, Michigan, and New York. All four didn’t play the Megaplier option, so they lost the chance of winning $4 million.
Meanwhile, 18 other ticket holders matched all four white numbers and the yellow ball. They each won $10,000. Of the 18, two played the Megaplier option. Hence, they won $40,000 each.
The last time a Mega Millions jackpot was won was on New Year’s Day. A group of Long Island co-workers claimed the massive $437 million jackpot. Since then, nobody has won the next jackpot.
When Mega Millions returns for another drawing next Tuesday, the total jackpot would already be $245 million. The cash option would be around $148.3 million.
Mega Millions is a multi-jurisdictional lottery game available in 44 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Lottery drawings are held on Tuesday and Friday nights at 11 p.m. ET. Tickets are sold at $2 each.
