American global media and lifestyle company Playboy Group is launching a new mobile casino game for the Indian market.
Playboy has teamed up with software platform provider Gaming Technologies or Gametech in making a skill-based, real-money Rummy mobile game that will be exclusive to India, iGaming Business reported Thursday.
The game will be Playboy-branded as the media company is said to be slowly but surely eyeing growth in Asia. The company could be targeting India with the new project because a study has found that the online gaming industry in the country will likely see a 40% growth rate by 2022.
“India is an important and growing market for Playboy,” Playboy International President Reena Patel said. “Our partnership with Gametech will cater to the young consumer’s desire for the Playboy brand in India across gaming and other categories including retail, beauty, venues, and hospitality.”
Gametech founder and chief executive Jason Drummond said he and his company are “thrilled” to work with Playboy in launching real money mobile games in India. This means the upcoming Rummy wouldn’t be the only collaboration they are having.
