Powerball is back with another draw this Wednesday night, but patrons of the American lottery will be disappointed to know that the jackpot has shrunk significantly after one lucky ticket holder secured the almost $700 million jackpot.
Word spread all over the news that one Powerball ticket won the $699.8 million jackpot after Monday night’s draw. It’s still not clear if the ticket only has one owner, or if it was purchased by a group of people.
For Wednesday night’s draw, the prize at stake is down to $20 million, while the cash option is valued at $14.2 million. The advantage of the smaller jackpot is it will also have smaller taxes compared to the gargantuan prize that was won early this week.
